A Special Visit from Red Rose Alex Matthews

It is not every day that a world-class rugby player walks through our doors, but that is exactly what happened at Arthur Spriggs and Sons today. We were absolutely delighted to welcome England Rugby star Alex Matthews to our workshop.

A Gesture of Appreciation

Alex has been entrusting us with the care of her VW Transporter since 2023. To show her appreciation, Alex surprised us with an incredibly thoughtful gift. She presented us with a signed Red. Roses England shirt, complete with a personal message: “Thank you for all your support, Chris.”

It was a touching moment for Chris and the rest of the team. We go about our work trying to do the best job possible for every customer, so to have that effort recognised by someone at the top of their game is truly humbling.

For those who follow rugby union, Alex Matthews needs no introduction. As a key member of the Red Roses (England Women’s Rugby team), she has been at the heart of a squad that has achieved incredible things on the global stage.

We know how hard the Red Roses work to stay at the pinnacle of their sport. Their dedication, resilience, and teamwork are values we admire deeply. Seeing the team’s success—including their recent triumphs—has been inspiring for the whole country. To play even a small part in keeping Alex moving safely on the road while she focuses on performing on the pitch is a privilege for us.
